About Finalizo
Finalizo exists because the end of a project is where freelancer relationships go wrong — and nobody had built something to fix it properly. Until now.
The founding story
The project was done. Great client, good budget, on time. Invoice paid. The designer closed their laptop on a Friday evening and thought: that's a wrap.
Then on Monday: “Hey, quick question — where are the login details?” By Tuesday: “Also, the font looks a bit different on mobile.” Three weeks later, a message that begins “I know this is a lot to ask, but…”
Six months after delivery, the count stood at: 47 emails answered, three “bugs” fixed that were actually client-requested changes, and roughly 40 hours of unpaid work. The client was lovely throughout. That was somehow the most frustrating part — because there was no villain. Just an absence of a clear ending.
The problem wasn't the client. It was the handover — or rather, the lack of one. No formal sign-off. Credentials buried in a thread. Support terms that existed only in the designer's head. A project that ended with a sent invoice rather than a proper close.
Finalizo is the tool built to fix that — not with paperwork or legal contracts, but with a professional, human workflow that clients actually read and sign.
2023
Founder finishes a £6k project. The 47-email support chain begins.
Early 2024
Tries Notion templates, PDF exports, DocuSign. None of them solve the closeout problem on its own.
Mid 2024
Starts building Finalizo — one workflow instead of a patchwork of tools.
Late 2024
Private beta with freelance designers and small agencies. Iterates on real closeouts.
2025
Public launch. Zapier, Slack, Notion, and API integrations ship.
What we stand for
Every project should have one clear handover record. Not a folder of links, not a thread of emails — one source of truth both sides can point to forever.
Clients deserve professional, calm instructions. Freelancers deserve protected time and a clean boundary. Finalizo makes both happen in the same moment.
The best client relationships are the ones where expectations were set in writing before they became assumptions. Finalizo makes that conversation feel easy, not awkward.
One record
Every handover lives in one signed link the client can return to — instead of a thread of email attachments.
Written scope
Support boundaries are agreed in writing before delivery, not negotiated after the invoice.
Encrypted handover
Credentials and sign-off live in a project-scoped portal. Nothing leaves Finalizo in plain text.
Plain-language description of the product, not a survey of invented numbers.

We're looking for product-minded engineers, designers, and support specialists who understand that the unsexy parts of client work — handovers, sign-offs, scope management — are where real value lives.
