Checklist
The Perfect Client Handover Checklist for Web Designers in 2025
A strong client handover checklist does three things: it proves what you delivered, helps the client use the work, and prevents support from becoming open-ended.
Use this checklist at the end of every web design project.
Access and ownership
- CMS or website editor access
- Hosting account access
- Domain registrar details
- DNS provider details
- GitHub or repository access if relevant
- Admin users and permission levels
Website operations
- How to edit pages
- How to update images
- How to publish CMS content
- How to test forms
- How to review analytics
- How to request future changes
Assets and documentation
- Final design files
- Brand assets
- Style guide
- Launch QA notes
- Known limitations
- Training videos
Analytics and integrations
- GA4 access
- Search Console access
- Tag Manager access
- CRM or email platform access
- Booking or payment integrations
- Cookie consent setup
Support boundary
Write down what is included after launch. Be specific. "Bug fixes" is clearer than "support". "New pages are quoted separately" is clearer than "small changes not included."
Final sign-off
Ask the client to confirm they have received the handover materials and understand the support terms. Save the timestamp, name, email, and certificate.
Finalizo turns this checklist into a reusable handover pack so you can close projects without rebuilding the process each time.
